1. How do I keep my lithium-ion battery healthy?
Charge or discharge the battery to approximately 50% of capacity before storage. Charge the battery to approximately 50% of capacity at least once every six months. Remove the battery and store it separately from the product. Store the battery at temperatures between 5 °C and 20 °C (41 °F and 68 °F).
2. Is it better to store lithium-ion batteries fully charged?
Lithium-ion must be stored in a charged state, ideally at 40 percent. This prevents the battery from dropping below 2.50V/cell, triggering sleep mode. Discard Li-ion if kept below 2.00/V/cell for more than a week. Also discard if the voltage does not recover normally after storage.
3. Is it bad to store lithium-ion batteries fully charged?
It's best to store your lithium-ion batteries at around a 40-50% state of charge if you plan to use them immediately. You should also be mindful that lithium-ion batteries can suffer damage if you overcharge them for too long.
4. What is the major problem in lithium-ion battery?
The primary hazard in a lithium-ion battery is the electrolyte, which at its core, is flammable. As the battery temperature rises to above ~80°C, the exothermic reaction rate inside the battery increases.
